Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán was pleased with his team’s reaction to losing their lead as the Terriers went on to beat Sheffield United 2-1 in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon.
A last minute winner from Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill sealed the win for Town at Bramall Lane, just moments after Billy Sharp had equalised for the hosts.
Corberán commented on his delight when the final whistle blew.
“I was really happy when we finished the game because I was watching all the fans and all the supporters, they are unbelievable.
“I am very pleased for the players for the reward that they got with the three points.
“When the fans are travelling to support the team, we want to give the best to them and make them feel very proud.”
Town took the lead in the 75th minute thanks to Josh Koroma, before a dramatic five minutes of added time saw the Blades equalise, before Town edged the score in their favour to take the win.
“What I was watching with a team with a lot of resonance, keeping the intensity, and holding themselves together.
“After our goal they defended really well, deep, but well.
“After Sheffield United equalised, we reacted and reacted very well.
“For me, at the end it’s positive because all the effort of the players received a very positive reward of three points.”
Saturday afternoon’s game saw the return of Harry Toffolo, who played his first half an hour since recovering from COVID-19. Corberán admits he’s an important player to have back amongst his squad.
“Harry Toffolo is a very important player for us.
“He’s got a very good balance between his defensive abilities and his attacking abilities too.”
