Head Coach Carlos Corberán was in high spirits after watching his side beat West Brom one nil at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Having taken the lead inside 10 minutes thanks to a Danel Sinani goal, the Terriers worked tirelessly to keep third placed West Brom at arm’s length for the remainder of the game.
Reflecting on the victory, Carlos admitted he knew how difficult the task would be, and laid out what the plan was going in to the game.
“We knew how tough the game would be” the Head Coach said.
“We wanted to change the dynamic after the last two results, especially playing here at home. We knew we’d have to work very hard today to achieve a result like that one.
“The idea was to be defensively very solid and use the space they gave to us because it was difficult to play short as they’re a very aggressive team.
“In a game like this, if you defend well then you will get chances on the counter-attack.”
Pleased especially with the mentality of his players, Carlos also shared his happiness with Scott High’s performance when asked, too.
“It was key to manage the concentration, which for me the team did really well.
“The concentration from out centre-backs was really brilliant today. The mentality of the players was, for me, brilliant. Without that mentality this result would’ve been impossible.
“The last two performances that Scott High has shown gave us full confidence in him. He wasn’t with the team during the international break because he was with Scotland, and the second game he played for them was very good.
“I always think the best of Scott High comes when he has space to attack, but today he showed his maturity in the middle of the pitch and he and O’Brien did very good.”
