Town make annual trip to both local hospitals in our area

As has become Town tradition, Club Ambassadors Andy Booth and Michael Hefele have visited both of our local hospitals in the run-up to Christmas!
An annual visit to spread cheer over the festive period and drop some gift bags with children at both the Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital, due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, our First Team players were unable to attend as they have done in the past.
Unable to enter the hospitals and deliver the presents themselves, our Club Ambassadors met with staff outside to make their delivery to ensure the gift bags still found their way to the children who’d be spending their Christmas inside undergoing treatment.
Commenting on the visit, Michael Hefele said:
“While it’s a shame that the players haven’t been able to come along and we aren’t able to go inside, we still wanted to do whatever we could to put smiles on faces this Christmastime.
“As a player this is something I had the chance to do with Town and remember how happy the children and staff were to see us, so to continue this as an Ambassador is a real joy.
“Visiting hospitals each December is a small act that can make a big difference, and we hope that by coming along, we’ve managed to brighten up the day of the young ones inside.”
Club Ambassador Andy Booth added:
“This is unfortunately the second year running that Covid-19 restrictions haven’t allowed us to visit the children and their families in the way we usually would, so we can only hope that next year will be different.
“These visits are at the core of who we are as a Club and will continue to be regardless of the circumstances, and I can only echo Michael’s sentiments in wishing those going through a tough period some cheer this Christmas.”
