Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner is keen for his players to get the winning feeling back this weekend against Bristol City.

The Terriers travel to Ashton Gate for the Third Round of the competition on the back of eight straight defeat, however, David Wagner believes a win could provide his side with a bit of momentum going back into Premier League action.

“The FA Cup in usually on the end of a very intense period, which we all had over Christmas and New Year. For us, we need a result and we need this winning feeling back as soon as we can. The next opportunity for this is tomorrow.

“We are aware of the big game we have coming up in the Premier League, but for us, it’s a big game in another competition – the FA Cup. This is why we should only be focused on this game tomorrow.”

Bristol City currently sit 11th in the Sky Bet Championship table with 38 points from 26 games and come into the match in good form.

The Robins beat Stoke City in their last outing and Town’s Head Coach is mindful of their strengths.

“We are all looking forward to our next challenge in the FA Cup, an away game against Bristol City.

“We are aware of their current form being unbeaten in eight, so this is a difficult task in front of us, away.

“We are looking forward to this game and we will try to get that winning feeling back, as soon as we can, and the next opportunity, even if we know it’s a difficult game, is tomorrow.”

Steve Mounié opened his account for the Terriers in the defeat against Burnley, something David Wagner believes could really help the Benin international.

“This was absolutely one of the positives we could take out of the last game.

“Him personally and us as a group, now after our first striker scored, will take confidence out of the goal.

“This is something we really needed, he really needed, and now we are looking forward to the next games where we can add some further goals.”
