The Huddersfield Town Academy side for tonight’s 2019/20 Clarets Cup Final against Burnley at the John Smith’s Stadium has been named!
The competition was created by tonight’s opponents to provide a consistent programme of games for Under-17 players.
Tonight’s fixture is actually the final from last season – 2019/20 – which couldn’t get played due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so players on both sides tonight will actually be aged up to 18!
The Terriers topped their group of four and progressed past Crewe Alexandra and Blackburn Rovers to play tonight’s final.
Jon Worthington will lead tonight’s game, as the Under-19 Coach led this side to the final last season.
Three of tonight’s starting line-up have made their First Team debuts for Town; Brahima Diarra in the Sky Bet Championship, and Etienne Camara and Myles Bright in the Emirates FA Cup.
Each side can use up to five substitutes tonight and if the scores are level after 90 minutes, we’ll play 20 minutes of extra time and then penalties if needed.
