Midfielder reviews Burnley defeat

- Midfielder believes his side could have done more
Huddersfield Town B Team midfielder Josh Austerfield was frustrated with the Young Terriers’ 2-0 defeat to Burnley on Wednesday afternoon.
Town fell behind in the first 45 minutes, and, despite their best efforts, were unable to find a way back into the game before the final whistle.
Speaking to htafc.com after the game, Austerfield admits it isn’t an easy result to take.
“We’re disappointed.
“We don’t want to go anywhere and lose, especially not like that.
“We dominated 75% of the ball and conceded two goals from areas that we really shouldn’t have done.
“It’s frustrating, really frustrating.”
The Young Terriers found themselves some chances to prevent Burnley from a clean sheet, but were unable to give them the finish they needed.
“They’re the fine margins that we’re working on every day,” Austerfield commented.
“To come here and play on a great pitch, we just want to show what we’re about, and we didn’t.
“We could, and should, have easily scored a few goals and we need to work on that ahead of the next game.”
The 19-year-old says that although Burnley were a very physical side, and he believes the B Team did well to match them, they needed to do more.
“I think we did really well against their physicality, but they scored from a set piece and that’s what we wanted to stop before we came here.
“From that point of view, we could have been better.”
The midfielder also discussed the one positive he thinks his teammates can take from the match at Barnfield Training Centre.
“We didn’t give in.
“We went 2-0 down and we stuck at it.
“It was probably a bit more end to end than we like, but we stayed in the game.”
