Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán was incredibly disappointed after the defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

The Terriers were beaten 5-2 at Ewood Park, a result which leaves them just above the Sky Bet Championship relegation zone.

When speaking after the game, Carlos explained what went wrong.

“Sometimes in the game we made many individual mistakes, all from different players at the same time.

“We wanted to come here to get something positive and had to mentality to do it.

“Very fast, we conceded two goals which we have to avoid to be a competitive team in a football game. We finished the first half better with the goal we scored.

“We wanted to change the feeling and to go for the game and because I was thinking today, we don’t have anything to lose; only the game, but when you’re losing 2-1 you need to change the result because we knew how important three points would be.

“Sometimes when you’re too brave in attack and you’re making some risks, you’re going to suffer some counter-attacks. At the same time as you have to go for the goal, you can’t concede a goal.

“When we conceded the third goal it was clear that they broke our balance and the level of confidence in the team reduced. Sometimes when you give up, the only thing you can do is concede goals and that’s what happened.

“At the end with the goal of Josh Koroma, we stopped that feeling but it was not positive. We are totally disappointed and unhappy.”

Town’s Head Coach was keen to take responsibility for the defeat and admitted that the fans deserve more.

“I’m disappointed in myself when I am watching the team competing like this. I am the most responsible one in the pitch. We need to react from this.

“We want to reach our target ourselves and then to give something positive for our fans. They deserve a lot more than what we are giving them.

“We have to learn from today, but sport and the Championship are not places to learn, these are places to compete.

“We have to compete better and cannot concede these goals in one game that was very important for us.”
