Central defender steps up a division into Sky Bet League 1
- Romoney Crichlow joins Plymouth Argyle on loan
- Defender recalled from League 2 Swindon Town beforehand
- Comments from Head of Football Operations Leigh Bromby
Romoney Crichlow has been recalled from Swindon Town ahead of a new loan move to Sky Bet League 1 side Plymouth Argyle.
The 22-year-old has spent the first half of the season on loan with the Robins in Sky Bet League 2 and has made 19 starts and five substitute appearances in all competitions – scoring twice – to help his side sit in the Play-Off positions.
However, he will now step up a division to Sky Bet League 1, joining the promotion-chasing Pilgrims for the rest of the campaign!
Managed by Steven Schumacher, Plymouth currently sit just outside the Play-Offs positions in seventh but have a game in hand over the team directly above them.
They face an away trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Huddersfield Town’s Head of Football Operations Leigh Bromby explained:
“The first half of the season has been a successful one for Romoney. He’s achieved what we wanted out of the last six months – he’s played a lot of minutes in a successful team in Sky Bet League 2 and has shown what he is capable of. I’d like to thank Swindon Town for how they have helped Romoney in his development.
“He now heads to Plymouth Argyle with a new challenge – to establish himself in another successful side in a higher division. Plymouth play really good football and are performing really well, so this will be a good challenge for Romoney. We want to see him go there and force his way into their side.
“We’re looking forward to seeing how Romoney fares, and we wish him the best of luck.”
