Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán praised his side’s personality and character following the draw with Reading.
In the final game of the Sky Bet Championship season, the Terriers snatched a last-minute equaliser after a highly competitive game against the Royals.
When speaking after the game, Carlos praised his players’ attitude to take something from the game.
“For me, the team was trying to attack a lot and trying to change the game. We played with a lot of personality and character.
“The start of the game was very positive for the team. After we scored, we knew it would be complicated to defend because they have a lot of ability.
“They don’t play with wingers, they play with playmakers, and they don’t play with full-backs because they attack inside and play with a right-back as a centre-back that allows him to arrive and to create more problems.
“They weren’t any easy team to defend but I think in all situations we did well. We conceded the first goal from a penalty after a second ball from a set piece, and the second goal was from a different set piece situation.
“The positive for me was the character of the team. It wasn’t easy to change the type of dynamic we were in, but at the end of the game, we tried to be more aggressive, we were more man-to-man on the pitch. Fortunately, today we got one point and even though it doesn’t change the table, it changes the feeling we have in ourselves.”
Now the season has come to an end, Carlos explained how important the summer is.
“As a club we want to grow, we want to improve the squad and we want to learn from our mistakes.
“I am the first one that made many mistakes and I have to improve. I want to see a better profile of the team, I want to see better performances and results because that’s the most important thing.
“I have enough support from inside the club and we are focused on improving the squad.”
