To mark Black History Month 2021 in the UK, the Club are proud to be raising awareness across the month of October in recognition of that.

Now in its 34th year, Black History Month sees hundreds of events take place across the country, with the theme for 2021 – Proud To Be – encouraging people of all ages to share what they are proud to be.

With a focus on black British resistance to racism, Black History Month will seek to celebrate key figures who have made substantial contributions to the country.

Black History does not just encompass social justice and discrimination, but highlights contributions made to the arts, politics, everyday life, community and so much more – including sport. Those stories aren’t often given the platform they deserve or warrant, Black History Month allows us the opportunity to put an under-represented community centre stage.

As a Club, we have plans to participate in Black History Month through both dedicated and featured content across the month of October. We are proud of the diversity and inclusivity within our Club, fanbase and town both presently and across our history, and will continue to celebrate that.

Internally, the Club have our own Equality Working Group who work toward ensuring all policies are both inclusive and accessible, whilst our Terriers Together initiative brings together all of our efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in all that we do, supported by First Team ambassador Harry Toffolo and Academy ambassador Mustapha Olagunju.
