Huddersfield Town midfielder Danel Sinani was pleased with the team’s performance in the Terriers narrow defeat to Everton in the Second Round of the Carabao Cup.

The 24-year-old, who is on loan at Town from Norwich City, was making his first competitive start for the club having previously featured twice from the substitutes bench.

Tom Lees drew Town level at 1-1 in the first half and his centre-back partner Matty Pearson had a powering header ruled out for a tight offside as the Terriers troubled the Everton back line, something Danel noted in his post-match comments.

“We played very well.

“I thought we were patient, but sometimes we have to be more patient in the final third.

“We defended almost everything well and also created a lot of chances. I’m looking forward to the next few matches!”

The Luxembourg international also reflected on his start to life in West Yorkshire, having moved north from Norfolk towards the end of July.

“Yorkshire is good!

“The people around me are very lovely and I feel very comfortable so I’m glad to be here.

“(Speaking to Paul Ogden) I can understand you well!

“If you speak too fast it’s a bit more difficult, but I’m trying my best!”
