Huddersfield Town had the chances to come away from Gloucestershire in the hat for the next round of the Emirates FA Cup, but David Wagner was left ruing the clinical edge once again as Josh Brownhill's second-half strike sent Town out in Round Three.
Town’s Head Coach acknowledged that performance levels weren't at the peak at Ashton Gate which allowed Lee Johnson's City to progress.
"We were not able to put enough pressure on our opponents. In the first half I wasn't happy at how we defended, but second half we did it a lot better.
"We had moments in the box where we had to hit the target. We didn't give the ‘keeper work to do, and we conceded from a very difficult angle; it showed what you can do if you hit the target."
Jason Puncheon impressed on his Huddersfield Town debut in the South West having joined on loan from Crystal Palace, and the Head Coach was pleased to see the new recruit in action.
"As a team we didn't perform on a good level, but some individual performances were ok.
“Jason Puncheon looked composed on the ball and is able to take care of the ball. It was important for him to play 90 minutes, and his fitness looks good."
An important Premier League clash at Neil Warnock's Cardiff City looms, with the squad champing at the bit to turn the form around.
"I think this is the biggest part of my job, to lift everybody but it is made more difficult after defeat, but we have to look forward to next weekend at Cardiff."
