Head Coach Carlos Coberán admits that Sheffield Wednesday are very strong defensively ahead of Tuesday evening’s Sky Bet Championship game.
Huddersfield Town host Sheffield Wednesday at the John Smith’s Stadium and Carlos discussed how the team have changed since the appointment of Tony Pulis.
“They have changed their style a little bit; they are very strong and very solid in defence, that’s clearly a big focus for them.
“The team is also now very dangerous with the counter-attack.
“They have some very good players. They’ve proven that they’re not an easy team to score against, and if they didn’t have a points deduction they wouldn’t be at the bottom of the table.
“We watched their game against Norwich, and they were winning up until the final 10 minutes. We know it’ll be a high challenge for the team.”
Carlos also gave an update on his team’s injury news when speaking to the press.
“Christopher Schindler had a scan this morning and we are waiting for the result.
“Hopefully we can have our Captain back with us as soon as possible, but the type of injury he suffered has created a lot of doubts.
“We know how important he is to the players and to this Club. We need to always be ready to adapt to any scenario, but first of all we need to keep calm until we know the results of his scan. We can make any decisions from there.
“We continue now with the same number of players that we can had against QPR. We can add Álex Vallejo to the squad too because he’s recovered from his injury.
“Romoney Crichlow has worked with the group in their last three training sessions and he’ll work with them today.
“Although he’s now in a good medical condition, he’s not in the best physical condition because he has missed quite a long period of time. At the end of today’s training we will evaluate how he is and make a decision from there.
“Tommy Elphick continues in the same process. He will continue working with the medical staff. We know that he’s a player with good experience, but this is a very long-term injury.”
