Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán was pleased with his side’s performance for the first 50 minutes in the 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
The Terriers got off the a flying start and were two goals ahead in the opening half an hour. They then defended well to hold on to another clean sheet – their second in the space of four days.
When speaking after the game, Town’s Head Coach went into detail about his side’s performance.
“I think the start of the game from the team was really good. We started controlling the game from the back, we created chances and scored a couple of goals.
“I thought until the minute 30, we controlled, dominated the game and created enough chances to unbalance the game for us.
“After the injury of Hogg, in this moment the team started to lose the control of the ball. They didn’t press and in this moment it’s a strength to be winning the game.
“The start of the second half, for me, again was very good from the team. We had the chance to unbalance the game again with the penalty, but we didn’t do. I think sometimes this situation can affect the performance of the team too.
“We started to be more defensive and start to defend the result. We didn’t create the feeling that, usually, we wanted to create with the team.
“We know how difficult it is to win two games in a row in the Championship, especially when you play two days later after the previous game. At the same time, I have a lot of expectation on my players.”
That’s back-to-back wins and clean sheets for the Terriers, but Town’s Head Coach is still focused on his side’s progression.
“Our ambition is to face the game in the best way. I am not watching the table. The only thing we want is three points is each game.
“The team showed a good style and mentality in the first 50 minutes and this today was enough.
“Another time we need to extend this performance because I want to prevent bad performances from this team.
“I trust in my players and my team. Our target is to continue growing every day and be in a better position to play each game.”
