Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley was pleased with the point picked up against Preston North End.
The game remained goalless at the John Smith’s Stadium in a real hard-fought match against the promotion-chasing Lilywhites.
When speaking after the game, Town’s Manager explained how vital that point could be as we enter the closing stages of the Sky Bet Championship season.
“It was an important point at an important time of the season.
“We didn’t quite play with the energy and intensity at the top end of the pitch we would’ve liked; hat was three games in six days for us, which is particularly difficult.
“It wasn’t easy at the top end of the pitch; we didn’t have the sharpness we would’ve liked to have played with. When you can’t play well in possession then you have to play well out of possession.
“We were organised, compact and gave a very good Preston team little chance. We defended our box well when we needed to. What was frustrating is that we didn’t quite get our counters off.
“We wanted to be compact and organised in shape and break like we did against Birmingham; we didn’t quite get our counter attacks off. It was a hard-fought point and one we will add to our total.
Trevoh Chalobah came back into the starting XI in an unusual role for him at right-back. He explained how impressed he was with him.
“Firstly, DD did brilliantly to play Wednesday; he’s had a stomach virus. In the current climate, he isn’t allowed to be in and around training unless he’s been tested.
“He couldn’t train going into Birmingham, He had the test, which was negative, which allowed him to play Wednesday, but he still wasn’t allowed to train Thursday. He’s lost near on 5kg this week alone.
“He wasn’t available, and we are light in that position. Trevoh did a really good job and we aren’t light anymore; he did a really fantastic job for the team.
“That’s what this is about now, about the players putting the team before the themselves. Credit to him because he’s a young player and it’s not easy to play out of position. He did a really good job for the team.”
