Huddersfield Town Town Manager looks ahead to Luton visit

Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley says his side are continuing to work as hard as they can to keep picking up points in the quest for Sky Bet Championship survival.
The Terriers face Luton Town on Friday evening in a game that sees them come up against a Hatters side that are also currently battling at the bottom end of the table.
Ahead of the clash, Town’s Manager discussed the unity within the group as the Terriers continue their quest towards Sky Bet Championship survival.
Speaking to the media via his virtual press conference on Thursday afternoon, Danny talked about his team’s fight and willingness to build on a run that has seen them take five points from their last three games.
“We’ve got four more games to go. We’re fighting very hard and we’re together,” he said.
“There’s a unity in the group, the group are helping each other. We’ve come through many trials and tribulations during the season, we’ve faced adversity a lot of time and we’ve faced criticism along the way and that’s brought us together as a group.
“We’re all fighting for the same cause and that can be very powerful in a team setting.”
Ahead of their visit to West Yorkshire on Friday evening, Danny has given his thoughts on what he expects from Nathan Jones’ Luton Town.
The Hatters have only lost one of their five games since the restart, but have been left frustrated in recent games, having dropped points late on against Barnsley last time out, just days after a heavy defeat at the hands of Reading.
“We anticipate they’ll be a wounded animal in the respect that they had a disappointing result against Reading on the Saturday and were then pegged back against Barnsley late on.
“We know that they will come fighting and it’s probably a game they have to win.
“What we have to do is make sure that we get to our levels and that’s always in terms of attitude, work rate and focus, but also in terms of the way we execute the game plan.
“I’m looking forward to it; I always look forward to big games. We intend to show everybody the best of Huddersfield Town come Friday evening.”
To do that, Danny will be hoping he can have as big of a squad as possible to choose from for the 6pm kick-off.
Town’s Manager provided a positive update on the fitness of both Fraizer Campbell and Richard Stearman who both missed the Reading game on Tuesday night.
“We hope (to have Fraizer available). Fraizer is obviously an important player for us.
“Stears has been able to train.
“We were able to rest one or two in midweek. When you’re playing as many games as we are, you have to make some decisions.
“We were able to get it right on Saturday and again on Tuesday, and that puts us into a good position to pick the team we want to going into the Luton game.”
Friday night’s game will of course take place once again at an empty John Smith’s Stadium, as has been the same for every match since the restart.
Although it may seem like the new normal for the time being, Danny insists that the Terriers faithful will still be missed tomorrow evening but hopes that Town can put their energy into what they can control to reward the supporters watching from afar.
“They will definitely be missed – there’s no hiding place from that.
“We’ve had a really good home record since we’ve been here, and the supporters have played a key role in that.
“We’re very lucky at Huddersfield Town that we have a high number of supporters that have helped us.
“But for us, we have to control what we control. It’s about us getting to our levels of performance, and if we can do that, we’ll be in a good place to get the desired outcome.”
