Danny Cowley previews Huddersfield Town’s match against Forest

Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley is keen to show a true representation of his side this weekend against Nottingham Forest.
The Terriers will look to bounce back from their season restart defeat to Wigan Athletic as they travel to the City Ground on Sunday (28 June 2020).
In the build up to the Wigan defeat, Town’s Manager explained how positive the pre-season training and friendly matches were.
Now, after another excellent week on the Training Ground, Danny explained how he wants results for his side’s hard work.
“We’ve prepared really well, and I trust in them (the players) as people. When we have had bad days we’ve always responded. We worked hard this week to try and find the right response come Sunday.
"I have huge faith in myself, Nicky, the management team and the players. We are determined. I’ve got the most trust I’ve had in this group since I’ve been at the Football Club.
"There's no hiding place from last Saturday. We take the criticism. We will keep it close and use it to drive us.
"We want to show a true representation of us on Sunday.
“It's time for us to make sure we respond with actions and not just words."
This is Town’s first away game since the season restart, which means the first away game without supporters in the Stadium.
After the first experience of an empty stadium, Cowley explained how there’s now no advantage of playing games at home.
“There's no advantage playing at home. We didn’t feel any advantage at the John Smith’s Stadium.
"We are always going to miss our supporters; they're among the best in the Championship. It’ll hurt us more than other teams.
"We have to create our own atmosphere, make sure we are all responsible for our own self-motivation, make sure we are all part of the group motivation. We’ve all got a cause; we know what we are fighting for and we know how important these next eight games are in the history of this Football Club.
“We have to find our intensity and fight to be competitive in the next eight games.”
Town were without Fraizer Campbell and Steve Mounié for the defeat against Wigan Athletic, which meant Karlan Grant – who usually operates on the left – was playing in the number nine role.
He detailed the fitness of them and the rest of the squad.
“We prefer to use Karlan in the number 11 role instead of the number 9.
“We all know Karlan can give us many qualities. We think he does better on the left, coming inside.
"Making those runs outside to in rather than playing against physical centre-halves. At the moment this is where we are at.”
"We are hopeful that Fraizer Campbell and Steve Mounié will be back, and we will be able to use them.
"We know we have eight games coming very quickly in a short space of time. We can’t afford to make mistakes in bringing them back too soon; it could be fatal for their season.
"We have to try and be patient with them where possible, but we will massively benefit by having one, if not both back.
“Emile (Smith Rowe) had a high temperate and some nausea (against Wigan). We tested him before and after the game and he had a negative result, so it was nothing to do with the coronavirus. He recovered well and is back in training.
“Bacca picked up some cramp, which didn’t help him in the latter part of the Wigan game; he’s back on the grass and training.”
