Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán says that his side need to focus on themselves ahead of their Boxing Day game against Blackpool.
When speaking to the press in his virtual press conference, Carlos discussed what he expects from the Sky Bet Championship side when they visit the John Smith’s Stadium on Sunday 26 December 2021.
“One of the key things about Blackpool is that the keep the same style.
“They won their game last week, and they hadn’t had a very positive dynamic of results before that, but what they did really well was to keep doing what had given them their good start to the season.
“What we need to do is focus on ourselves, but I see a lot of similarities to our game against them in September 2021.
“Our desire is to give our fans three points at home.”
The Terriers go into Sunday’s game off the back of a 3-2 away win over Bristol City. Town’s Head Coach was quick to comment on the result.
“I think it was necessary.
“The three points were very important.
“When you’re not achieving the results that you want to achieve, it’s very important that you get the win.”
The Spaniard also provided his latest injury update.
“Fortunately, nothing has changed for us.
“We will have the same available players that we had against Bristol City.
“Hopefully, everything continues that way!
“Unfortunately, we couldn’t have Aaron Rowe up until now.
“For me, he plays very well as a wing back and that is his main position.
“He can play perfectly there.
“Pipa has started to train with normal intensity this week.
“He still has pain, but it’s normal pain.
“We are waiting for the medical staff to tell us when he will be available to play.
“Jonathan Hogg is having the right recovery.
“He’s training on the pitch with the medical staff.
“Hopefully, next week he will be able to train with the group, if not, it will be two weeks.
“With Vallejo the situation is very different.
“We can’t be thinking about training with him for the next 10 weeks.
“Rolando Aarons had surgery three days ago.
“He will now start his recovery process.
“It will take some months before he can come back to the group.
“I can’t tell you exactly how long he will be out, it all depends how he recovers, but it will be a challenge for him to come back before the end of the season.”
