Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Ryan Schofield commended the Terriers’ attitude as they looked to respond to the heavy defeat in midweek during the 0-0 draw with Rotherham United.
Town’s no.31 played his part in the stalemate, with several saves to ensure that the Terriers would bounce back with at least a point against the Millers.
Although it only was a point in the end, Ryan was content with the side’s reaction in the Yorkshire derby.
“I think the message out there is that they’re not any closer to us,” the ‘keeper said speaking to #HTTV after the game.
“The boys have dug in after Tuesday and shown a real fight, real character and that’s testament to everyone in the changing room who has put a shift in.
“I think the boys were solid out there, I don’t think we conceded too many chances and we dealt with the threat of the set plays well."
The goalless draw meant a third clean sheet in six for the goalkeeper who says that the Terriers will continue to work to translate the platform that clean sheets offer into wins more regularly.
“There is work to be done, we will work hard.
“We showed a real grit and desire to get the clean sheet.”
Town return to the John Smith’s Stadium on Tuesday evening with AFC Bournemouth the visitors to West Yorkshire in the Sky Bet Championship.
Ryan says Town will prepare for the quick turnaround and be ready to compete again in midweek.
“It’s what we’re here to do, play games thick and fast, we’ve got a good squad and I’m sure whoever is out there is ready to put a shift in for us.”
