Huddersfield Town Under-17 midfielder Ernaldo Krasniqi wants more special feelings like scoring his first goal for the Young Terriers.

Krasniqi used to be a part of the Crown Pro Elite Academy in London before moving to Huddersfield Town during the summer to join the Under-17 group.

Since that point, the youngster – who usually adopts the number six role in midfield – has continued to develop his own game, as shown by his goal against Chesterfield last weekend.

“The feeling of scoring that goal was tremendous. Hopefully there will be many more to come; I was proud of it.

“I want to get as many goals as possible; I want more of that feeling.”

It’s been a busy summer for Ernaldo, with a call-up to the Albania Under-17 team shortly after signing with Town.

“Getting the call-up was crazy! First, I move up to Huddersfield Town and then I get a call up for Albania – God is good.

“It would be a dream come true to be able to play for my national team. It motivates me to keep improving and keep proving myself.”

Krasniqi was also keen to speak about the influence of Under-17 Coach Jon Worthington.

“Both on and off the pitch, he motivates players and gets straight to the point.

“He helps me understand my position more as he was a central midfielder himself. He tells me exactly what I need to do to improve.

“I remember when we recently played against Scunthorpe – I wasn’t playing my position correctly and so, at half-time, he gave me a list of pointers and my game instantly improved in the second-half.

“He’s helped with my confidence both on and off the ball, which has been beneficial to me. I can tell I’ve improved with my positioning behind the ball and my confidence on it.”

Ernaldo and his Under-17 teammates play Lincoln City in the EFL Youth Alliance League on Saturday, with the 11am kick-off taking place at Riseholme College, Showground Campus (LN1 2ZR).
