Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán is excited for his team to show their strengths when they face Premier League side Burnley in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round.
The Terriers travel to Turf Moor on Saturday 8 January 2022 to take on the Clarets in a 12.30pm kick-off.
When speaking to the press in his virtual press conference, Carlos started by touching on how grateful he is to be back in action following his recovery from COVID-19.
“Before I get started, I’d like to send my best wishes to Sean Dyche.
“I hope he has a good recovery.
“As for me, I feel well!
“I’m back at the training ground and can be involved with training again.
“Unfortunately, I missed the game at Blackburn Rovers.
“That’s something that is always hard to manage – you never feel comfortable having to help the team prepare from home!
“Also, when you’re watching the game on the TV there is a one-minute delay, so you’re not watching the same thing that you are listening to.
“I couldn’t enjoy our attacking because the audio was telling me Blackburn were near our goal!
“It’s never a comfortable situation for a coach, but fortunately everything is fine and I’m back now.”
Looking head to Saturday’s game, Town’s Head Coach discusses what he expects from both his side and Burnley’s.
“The cup is a very nice competition.
“It’s always a special moment.
“The cups are all or nothing, so the energy is just different.
“You need to give everything in that moment in order to progress.
“I have a lot of respect for every team, so you can imagine how much I have for teams that compete in the Premier League!
“I know that Burnley are a good team – they’re a Premier League squad.
“When I watch them, I’m looking for what we can exploit and where we can show our strengths.”
The Spaniard also provided his latest injury update, which included an update on team Captain, Jonathan Hogg.
“Aaron Rowe won’t be available on Saturday as he unfortunately has COVID-19.
“At this moment in time, he is the only player who isn’t available.
“If everything goes well, Jonathan Hogg will be available.
“The work that he’s being doing recently with the team has been positive.
“Naby Sarr is better.
“He had a pain in his back, but he’s been working with the medical staff on the pitch and has been having a positive reaction.
“If he continues to train okay, he will be available.”
