Huddersfield Town Head Coach Carlos Corberán is preparing for a battle when his squad travel to face Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town on Saturday 2 October 2021.

Town go into the game off the back of a thrilling 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday 28 September 2021.

Carlos is pleased with how his squad responded to the challenges they faced during the game.

“We’re pleased with Tuesday, but I have to analyse the reasons why we won.

“The team showed very good energy in the first minutes of game, and after that the team adapted well to the demands of the game.

“We were very solid in the minutes where they took the ball and tried to attack, you can suffer, but we controlled them well.

“I also think the team reacted well in the moments after Blackburn’s goals.

“The team showed that they believed they could continue going and win the game.”

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, Town’s Head Coach discussed what he’s expecting from the opposition.

“I’m totally concentrated on the battle that this game is going to be.

“Their result the other day didn’t surprise me. Luton have played more games away than they have at home.

“Luton have had some injuries which means they haven’t had the full squad.

“When they’re playing at home, they’re a very dangerous team because they have a high level of competitiveness and energy.

“We need to go to their pitch with the right mentality.”

The Spaniard also provided the latest team news, including an update on Álex Vallejo.

“Vallejo had a pain in his knee.

“He’s receiving a medical assessment today, so he is now with the doctors.

“If he does okay in training, then he will be an option for tomorrow.

“If he cannot train, then he won’t be in the squad.

“Jonathan Hogg and Lewis O’Brien are having an assessment too – it’s the same.

“We continue our medical work with Pipa, Aaron Rowe, Jordan Rhodes and Ryan Schofield.

“Aaron will be another three-four weeks.

“Ryan will come back in the international break.

“We hope that he’ll be able to get back to training with the group in the second week.

“All the other players that were available on Tuesday still are.”
